New website to be set up by the Vatican and the Italian Space Agency

20. 02. 11

A new website is being set up by the Vatican, working together with Italy’s scientific community that will explore both sides of the religion vs. science debate. The website will be available in Italian and English and will explore topics ranging from astronomy to theology, and from space missions to philosophy and art.

The website will have three portals tailored to different audiences, one for the general public, one for students and their professors, and one for scholars. Each portal will have a variety of multimedia platforms, and will also contain the latest data collected by satellites and unmanned probes.

The website is being run jointly by the Vatican and the Italian Space Agency, and is being designed to contain a mixture of hard data and philosophical interpretation, which could make it a very interesting and useful teaching tool.

When the website goes live, it will be added to ESERO-UK’s space web links section.
