National Space Academy looking to recruit Lead Educators

The National Space Academy is offering a number of positions as Lead Educators across the UK. Lead Educators are outstanding secondary school teachers who are released from their schools/colleges for 23 days per year to work with international experts in the Academy partnership in developing and delivering curriculum support programmes and CPD for students and teachers in Key Stages 3, 4 and 5. It provides a superb CPD opportunity for the best teachers and secures a leading role for partnership schools in driving forward this ground-breaking programme that is attracting international attention as a strategic STEM support programme.

The National Space Academy is a network of outstanding teachers and space scientists that use the inspirational context of space to teach STEM subjects – and geography – to GCSE, A Level and BTEC students and their teachers. Led by the National Space Centre on behalf of the UK Space Agency, European Space Agency (ESA) and Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC), the Academy delivers student masterclasses, teacher CPD and holds careers events, its purpose being to materially enhance the size and quality of the UK science and engineering skills pool. This national initiative combines the world-class expertise the UK has in space science and climate change observation with an education strategy to support students, teachers and industry.

Lead Educators are sought in the following three subjects - Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
