05. 10. 12

The UK Space Education Office (ESERO-UK) held a conference for organisations throughout the UK that provide support to teachers and students in the use of Space as a context for enriching teaching and learning in schools.

This conference celebrated the work carried out by many organisations in the UK that promote space as an inspirational context for teaching STEM subjects.

The conference was attended by representatives of the UK Space Agency (UKSA), European Space Agency (ESA), Department for Education (DfE), Institute of Physics (IOP), Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC), space industry and other key organisations.

The event kicked off with an inspirational space lecture on Thursday evening from Professor David Southwood, former Director for Science at ESA and President of the Royal Astronomical Society (RAS).

The soapbox sessions gave an opportunity for delegates to showcase excellent practice and exhibit their resources. To find out more about the soapbox sessions click on the document below.

The afternoon session included a teacher panel, so that attendees could listen to teachers and understand what they need to enrich teaching and learning of STEM subjects.
