As part of the inaugural UK Space Conference on Tuesday 5th July 2011 at the University of Warwick, ESERO-UK is organising a dedicated space education day.

Specifically designed for primary and secondary teachers, the day will include a plethora of exciting space-related workshops, including plenary lectures. Dr. Lucie Green; a solar researcher based at the Mullard Space Science Laboratory at University College, London will talk about 'Living in the Sun's atmosphere'; Professor David Cullen from Cranfield University will give a lecture aimed at primary school teachers about the possibility of 'Life on Mars'; and Dr. Lewis Dartnell also from University College, London will talk about the 'Hunt for alien life'. You will also engage with other inspirational speakers, discuss the role of space in education and take away important contacts of space education providers in your region.

It is free for teachers to attend and you can book your place on the UK space education day by returning the online booking form (click 'ok' or 'open'when prompted to do so) to ESERO-UK.

Established at the National STEM Centre at the University of York, ESERO-UK (also known as the UK Space Education Office) aims to promote the use of space to enhance and support the teaching and learning of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) in schools and colleges throughout the UK.
