2011 Space Academy Teachers Conference

Nationwide, England (South East), England (Midlands)

16. 04. 11 - 18. 04. 11

The Space Academy Teachers Conference is an intensive three-day residential event for KS3, KS4 and Post-16 science teachers. Hosted jointly by the National Space Centre and the Science Learning Centre East Midlands, this superb CPD opportunity is eligible for subsidy through the DFE/Science Learning Centre Impact Awards.

Over the course of three days, delegates participate in a large variety of curriculum-focused practical sessions delivered by Space Academy Lead Educators and Project Scientists. These will enable and inspire attendees to bring STEM activities into the classroom utilising Space Science, GPS and Earth Observation Science as contexts. Teachers also have an opportunity to attend seminars from some of the UK's leading Space Scientists. This will enable delegates to incorporate current cutting-edge research and everyday Space applications into discrete curriculum links and more general themes such as 'how science works' and the use of critical thinking skills.
